Use Guidelines

Our Policy

Employees MAY NOT share AI-generated visual content that uses AVI-SPL branding or presents itself as official AVI-SPL creative.

AI may still be used for brainstorming, inspiration, and personal creative use.

Applies to: Images | Graphics | Photos | Videos | Animations

What’s Allowed?

Personal AI Content

Employees may create and share AI-generated imagery on their personal social media accounts, including LinkedIn.

That’s okay as long as:

  • The AVI-SPL logo or branding does not appear.
  • Partner logos or branding do not appear.
  • The content does not look like official AVI-SPL marketing or communications.

Personal AI content is your content and your brand. Please keep the AVI-SPL brand and our partners’ brands separate from it.

What’s Not Allowed?

  • Partner branding

Need Something Created?
Send it to Marketing

If you have an idea for a graphic, social post, event asset, presentation visual, or other branded creative, don’t create it with AI.

Instead:

  1. Submit a Graphic Design Request

Send your idea or creative need to the Marketing team through the Marcom Request Intake Form.

    MarCom Request Intake Form >
  2. Share Your Inspiration

AI can be useful for communicating an idea, concept, layout, or visual direction. Feel free to include AI-generated inspiration with your request.

  3. Marketing Will Review the Request

Marketing will evaluate requests based on business priority, audience, timing, available resources, and whether a custom asset is needed.

Submitting a request does not guarantee that Marketing will create every one-off graphic or social asset. Our role is to support the broader AVI-SPL brand and business needs, so some requests may be redirected to an existing template, resource, or alternative solution.

  4. We’ll Create a Branded Version When Appropriate

When Marketing supports the request, we’ll make sure the final asset is polished, editable, and aligned with AVI-SPL’s brand standards.

Note: Check Existing Marketing Templates

Before submitting a custom design request, check the Marketing SharePoint for available templates, approved assets, and resources that may already meet your needs.

What Happens If Branded AI Content Is Posted?

Protecting the AVI-SPL brand - and the brands of our partners - is everyone’s responsibility.

If Marketing identifies an AI-generated image, graphic, photo, or video that contains AVI-SPL or partner branding, we may ask that the content be removed or replaced.

When you’re unsure whether something is appropriate to post, reach out to Marketing before publishing it.

A Note About Internal Use

AI-generated visuals can sometimes be useful for internal presentations, documents, and brainstorming. But there is an important limitation to keep in mind:

AI images are finished images - not editable design files. If an AI-generated graphic is placed into a PowerPoint or document, no one will be able to edit it for future use.

If you needed to make edits or someone wanted to use that graphic but with their own information, the graphic may need to be completely rebuilt.

For presentations and documents that will be reused, updated, shared broadly, or eventually sent to customers, use approved templates and editable assets whenever possible.
